Ten on Tuesday

1. YAY beach day. I had an awesome day at Topsail with all the ladies and their lovely babies today.
2. I am about to pull my hair out over this sweater I'm making my mom. I realized today I read the pattern wrong and now I have to rip out the sleeves.
3. My entry way smells like cat pee and I can't figure out why. I even got down on my hands and knees and sniffed every inch of the carpet. Looks like I'm renting a steam cleaner and cleaning our living room carpet in the near future.
4. I finally finished the scarf that I had been working on. I was determined to use the whole skein of yarn that I had so it resulted in a scarf almost 9 ft. Long!
5. Andrew and I will hopefully make it to the Cherry Point Airshow this weekend. I'm super excited about it.
6. Confession: I have NEVER been to an air show before.
7. Yesterday I dropped a thing of crescent rolls on the kitchen floor and they exploded. So I did the sensible thing. I picked them up off of the floor and made dinner. Dog fur can't hurt you, right?
8.The dogs are currently fighting over one bone even though there are four within a foot perimeter of them.
9.Tomorrow I intend to stay in my pjs all day and do nothing but catch up on the DVR and knit. Sounds like the best day ever to me.
10. Shadow would like to learn to drive.

Ten on Tuesday.

1. Today is Holly's baby shower. I should be getting ready, I guarantee you I am not. Good things I have understanding friends who don't care if my house is perfect.

2. I'm going to visit Andrea. I'm so excited I could pee, but I won't because I really like this chair.

3. Andrew's 2 weeks for R&R were WAY to short.

4. My nephew is the cutest kid on the planet. He is going to bed early so the sun can go see Uncle Andrew early so that Uncle Andrew can have more day to get the bad guys and come home sooner. Seriously, how sweet is
that (if you take out the killing people part).

5. Tango is protesting the fact that Andrew is gone. She does this every time he leaves. It always makes me laugh because she protests by not pooping. Yup you read that right the dog is refusing to poop. Not my problem, less poop for me to pick up and she's never exploded before so I doubt she will this time.

6. Munchkin often yells at me to go to bed when it gets to late and I'm still up. The sad part is I listen to her. My cat has set my bed time and usually between 11 and midnight.

7. I have been knitting and crocheting like a crazy person. I have tons of stuff I'm making for friends, family, and the holidays. What I really want to be doing is finishing the socks, mittens, and sweater I'm making for me.

8. I miss my family like crazy. I think it's because Andrew left so recently. I always miss my family more right after he leaves.

Ten on Tuesday.

It's been a while since I did a 10 on Tuesday. Here it goes!

1. My mom comes to visit me today!!!! She's staying for a week and I'm SOOOOOO excited!

2. I just spent two days straight deep cleaning my house and I still feel like it's cluttered/dirty! Maybe I've become a germaphobe.

3. My house was DISGUSTING! I normally wouldn't admit that, but I haven't given it a real good scrub since Andrea helped me out cleaning it for Easter and it needed it.

4. I'm going home sometime in August. Even though I feel like I just got back, I'm excited to see my friends.

5. My pups are crazy and have been "helping" me clean all day. They're not very productive.

6. Andrew and I are officially more than halfway done with this deployment. It may not be much more than halfway, but we're over the hump.

7. He's coming home for R&R soon and I'm getting excited. At the same time though I keep thinking of all the things I haven't done yet.

8. My dad, Michelle, and G came to visit me a few weeks back. We had a blast playing mini golf and just hanging out around the house. I can't wait for them to come back for Thanksgiving.

9. Some days I feel like this deployment is flying by and other days I feel like it's crawling. I just need to remember we're over the hump and it will be done soon.

10. I've become addicted to Pinterest. There are so many great ideas floating around on this site. I can't wait to try them all!

Ten on Tuesday!

It's been a while since I've done a 10 on Tuesday. So, here's what I've been up to lately.

1. I eat sushi like it's my job. Seriously, Andrea, Holly and I walk into the local sushi place and they don't even really take our order anymore. They just confirm that we want what we always get.

2. When I type the word sushi I have to resist the urge to capitalize since that's the name of one of my cats.

3. Sushi LOVES shoes. Any shoes really, but particularly she love stinky shoes. Andrew's combat boots are generally her favorite, but since he's on deployment she's been getting by with sleeping on my gym shoes.
4. I am super excited for my best friend, Missy, to come and visit me in June. I've been homesick lately and
can't wait to have a little bit of it here with me in J'ville.

5. I had a dog trainer come to the house to help me work with Tango and Shadow. I was so relieved at the things she had to say. Turns out my dogs aren't bad after all. They just know how to push my buttons.

6. I'm working on knitting the cutest sweater. I'm super excited about it. I just finished the bust and am working on the lace pattern for the body. I can't wait to finish it and show everyone.

7. I am also working on the cool sock monkey blankets for a friend.

8. I miss my husband like crazy, but I'm tired of people thinking that means I can't live a normal life while he's gone. Why does everyone expect you to sit around and mope just because your husband is gone? That would drive me bonkers.

9. I am terrible at remembering to put out the trash and recycle. No seriously, if I put the trash out once a month we're doing great. The recycle tends to pile up in the garage for about 2-3 weeks before I get frustrated and just put it at the curb to sit until recycle day. I should probably figure out which day is recycle day and that would help some.

10. Cooking for one person is HARD! I always make tons and then have tons of leftovers I can't eat before they go bad. I tried cooking things that freeze well so I could freeze half, but I'm starting to get tired of the same recipes.

11. You get a bonus today! My garden is doing wonderfully!!!! I have flowers on my tomato, cucumber, and bell pepper plants!!!! I can't wait for them to have actual veggies (are tomatoes a fruit?) so that I can make salad.

10 on Tuesday (Thanksgiving style)

1. I am thankful for my husband who always supports me no matter what.
2. I am thankful for my family. (Mom's side)

3. My dad's side
4. I am thankful for my in-laws. Not everyone gets blessed with awesome in-laws, so I feel like I got extra lucky with mine!
5. I am thankful for Missy! She's been my best friend for as long as I can remember and I don't know what I would do without her.
6. I'm thankful for all the friends that the Marine Corps has given me the opportunity to meet.
7. Believe it or not I'm thankful for the time I spent in Syracuse because if we hadn't been stationed there I never would have been given the opportunity to meet these wonderful women. 8. I'm thankful for my puppies (even when they pee on my carpet).

9. I'm thankful for my kittens to (most days). I love them even when they're being standoffish.
10. I'm thankful for the house that Andrew and I are turning into a home. I know buying a house wasn't really in the plans here, but buying this house really is a testament to how much with love our animals. We bought it so we could keep them all (and add one more!).

Ten on Tuesday

1. My birthday is tomorrow I turn 24. I'm not exactly sure when I got this old (not that 24 is OLD).
2. I have some great friends here in J'ville. I get to hang out with some great girls today and there's gonna be a big get together for lunch tomorrow.
3. I love our puppies, but yesterday I wanted to kill them. They were so nice as to run away. I got them both back, but they're making me crazy.
4. The cats have lost their minds also. They are running around like I lit their tails on fire. I think it's all the cool weather and fresh air.
5. The weather has been beautiful here the past few days. I've been able to have the windows open and a/c off. It's so nice.
6. Andrew's training got pushed back, so he doesn't have to leave on my birthday any more!!! I'm so excited about this. We're gonna try to go out to dinner if he gets off of work early enough.
7. I'm gonna go home while Andrew is at training, I'm so excited to get to see my friends and family back home.
8.We got our photos done on the beach with the puppies the other day. Our photographer Heartlove Photography is amazing and we love our pictures. We're just waiting on the prints we ordered to come in.
9.Andrew and I are getting excited for fall. We're going to try and hit up a couple of festivals before he leaves for training. I'm hoping that they're as fun as the ones we went to in Syracuse.
10.I have to admit that I actually miss this time of year in Syracuse. I miss the apple cider and the wineries. I don't miss the winter though.

10 on Tuesday

  1. What two blog posts in two days I must be going insane!
  2. I am going to lunch and a movie today with two wonderful ladies. I'm so glad that I'm making friends here in Jville. It's always stressful to move to a new place where you know no one. I'm lucky that the ladies here have welcomed me with open arms.
  3. My Daddy, Michelle, and G came to visit week before last now. I was so happy to see them.
  4. They dropped off the siding for my house, but story of my life no one is actually working on the house today
  5. My Mommy is coming to visit me in August!!! I'm so excited to see her.
  6. My sister and nephews are coming to visit in September. YAY I miss all my family so much.
  7. Andrew's wisdom teeth are healing he has a follow up soon. Hopefully he's doing fine.
  8. I found a new yarn shop out here (or actually it found me). I was contacted by the owner, evidently someone I know frequents the yarn shop and urged the owner to contact me through ravelry. I'm hoping to check it out soon and get some yummy new yarn.
  9. I'm having the hardest time deciding what to cast on next. I was going to knit this really cute bag with some leftover yarn, but the yarn just isn't working with the pattern so I need a new idea.
  10. I'm so ready to close on this house it's not funny. It seriously occupies my thoughts every waking moment and I'm beginning to have nightmares about it too. I just want this portion of this chapter in our lives to be done so we can start enjoying our house instead of hating it.

10 on Tuesday for mom

1. My mommy is forcing me to update my blog. (well not really forcing as much as complaining that I don't update often enough.)

2. We celebrated Andrew's birthday at the end of January with a fabulous Quadruple chocolate cake that I baked.
3. A picture of the inside. Doesn't it look yummy!4. I recently finished the cutest knit project for a friend who is having a baby right around Easter.
5. Andrew and I had a very low key Valentine's Day at home with each other. I made swordfish, rice pilaf and mixed veggies. He got me some beautiful gerber daisies.6. Lizzie was nice enough to send us a king cake since we were gonna miss Mardi Gras and the whole carnival season. It came unassembled, so Andrew and I had a good time putting it together.
7. Missy was also nice enough to send me flowers for Valentine's Day. They were gorgeous!
8. The animals are doing good and are as cute as ever! Tango has learned how to get on my nerves and some days I think she does it on purpose, but we still love her!

9. Andrew had fun this weekend. he went hunting out at Liberty Lodge which is about 45 minutes south of here. He managed to get himself a Ram. Now I have a freezer full of ram meat and no idea how to cook it.
10. Last, but not least, I'm coming home! I'm so excited to get to visit everyone. I've been needing to get out of this snow covered city for a while. The lack of sunshine and presence of so much snow can just be mood damper. I can't wait to come home. I'll be there March 16-24!!!!

Ten on Tuesday!

Ten on Tuesday on Tuesday this time!!! Lots has been going on around here lately and I thought I would do a quick catch up for everyone.

1. Andrew and I learned to snowboard this weekend. It was fun, but painful the next day. We're hoping to get to go back.

2. Andrew put in his re-enlistment packet. We're still waiting on it to be accepted and him sworn in.

3. The animals have gone crazy! Tango is loving the snow, Sue tried to run away, but came back when her paws hit the snow. Munchkin has decided she should be loud and obnoxious again.

4. Andrew and I are hoping to get to go on a snowboarding weekend this coming weekend with the guys/girls in his class.

5. I started knitting my first sweater this week. I had to frog it and start again.

6. I'm missing home like crazy and hating the cold, but making it work

7. Andrew is still on winter break so he's just been hanging around the house helping me out.

8. Andrew and I got our orders to our next duty station we report between May and June (fun stuff)

9. We're not excited about where we're going, it's not any of our 3 choices.

10. Without further ado, we're going to Camp Lejune North Carolina! (UGH)

Ten on Tuesday (On Wednesday?!)

1. Yes my 10 on Tuesday is a day late. I'm not apologizing

2. On Tuesday we got our first snow fall that stuck to the ground!

3. Yes, I bought my dog a snuggie.

4. See she's smiling she really does like it.5. I am starting an insane knitting project. I'm going to knit OptArt by December 17th for a Secret Santa exchange at work. I will be knitting this only this month I bet.

6. I should be knitting, but instead am doing my 10 on Tuesday a day late

7. Andrew and I are going to get our Christmas tree this weekend! We're super excited since this will be our first live Christmas tree together. It's probably going to be a small one.

8. We have all of our decorations up minus our tree. Here's a peak I'll put up the rest after the tree.
9. My contract with work got extended until June! YaY for being employed until we leave Syracuse.

10. Andrew and I are still anxiously awaiting our next duty station. We will find out in January (hopefully!).
