Oh Christmas Tree

Andrew and I went out to Critz Farm yesterday to pick out a live Christmas tree. We had such a good time. We brought Tango with us so that she could enjoy the great outdoors. Since it has been getting colder around here we haven't been venturing out as often. We're definitely southerners to the core. Yesterday was also Tango's 2nd birthday! Tango and I with the tree we picked out.

Andrew cutting down our tree

Once we got the tree home, off the car and into the house we started decorating! I love decorating the Christmas tree. I also baked some cookies and listened to Christmas Carols. We had a very eventful evening.
Our tree all decorated

Our second Christmas Tree

These went up the day after Thanksgiving. Our Christmas Village

Close up.
Our village has two ice skating rinks and a ton of houses.
Our stairs decorated. As I get our Christmas cards I'm hanging them from the garland.

Our stocking holders.

Once we were done with all of our decorating I sat down to work on a present I'm giving for the secret santa at work. It's going to be a throw sized blanket. I'm totally in love with it so far. It's knitting up fairly easily. Not a quickly as I was expecting, but it's still finishing up fairly fast for a blanket.

Ten on Tuesday (On Wednesday?!)

1. Yes my 10 on Tuesday is a day late. I'm not apologizing

2. On Tuesday we got our first snow fall that stuck to the ground!

3. Yes, I bought my dog a snuggie.

4. See she's smiling she really does like it.5. I am starting an insane knitting project. I'm going to knit OptArt by December 17th for a Secret Santa exchange at work. I will be knitting this only this month I bet.

6. I should be knitting, but instead am doing my 10 on Tuesday a day late

7. Andrew and I are going to get our Christmas tree this weekend! We're super excited since this will be our first live Christmas tree together. It's probably going to be a small one.

8. We have all of our decorations up minus our tree. Here's a peak I'll put up the rest after the tree.
9. My contract with work got extended until June! YaY for being employed until we leave Syracuse.

10. Andrew and I are still anxiously awaiting our next duty station. We will find out in January (hopefully!).

Thanksgiving and CRAZINESS!

My Dad, Stepmom, and little sister all came into town for Thanksgiving. We had such a blast. They got into town on Sunday evening and we just hung around the house.

Monday:
We went shopping at the Carousel Mall and grocery shopping. Dad made me (I mean us) Lasagna. He also made two smalls ones and put them in my freezer so that I could have some later.

Tuesday:
We went to Three Brother's Wineries. It was so much fun! There are three wineries and a microbrewery all located on the same property. Each brother has his own winery that reflects his tastes and style. They all collaborated on the microbrewery. We had a really good time there.

This is the first winery we went to. It was pretty good, but not the best out of the three. (Dad, Michelle, and Ginny)
This is the second winery we hit up. It was definitely girly wine, sweeter and fruitier with girly names. (Dad, Michelle, and Ginny)
The Microbrewery was pretty good. I only tasted the pale ale and root beer because I don't care for darker beers. (Dad, Me and Ginny)
This was the third winery. It definitely had the best atmosphere out of the three. It was so neat to look around.
This is the entrance to the third winery. You had to walk down a path next to a little "swamp" to get to it. (Dad and me)
Wednesday:
We all drove into New York City for the day. All of us had sites we wanted to see and experience. We got to see everything except the Statue of Liberty. It was definitely an interesting day and let me say if I never drive in NYC again it will be like 2 million years to soon. I survived it, but it was not one of my favorite experiences.

Andrew and I outside of Studio 1A. We weren't early enough to see the Today show being taped, but we did get to see them taking down the stage that Bon Jovi had performed on.
The Rockefeller Christmas Tree. I can't wait to go back at Christmas and see it all l

Rockefeller Center all decorated. It was so pretty
We saw the lights down the street from Radio City Music Hall. They were so cool. I told Andrew that we should take them home for the house.

In Central Park at Strawberry Fields.

We got to see them inflate the balloons for the Macy's Day Parade. It was crazy crowded, but I'm betting it beat the crowd there for the actual parade. Andrew and I at the end of the first street of balloons. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience (seriously we'll never do it again)

The doorman at FAO Schwartz. He was so cool. When we walked in he was totally taking the cookie monster puppet and going C is for cookie and cookie is for me LoL.
Our last stop on the way back to the car. We found this when walking back to the car. Total accident, and I probably couldn't find it again if I had to.

Zombies, Apple Pie,Kitty Cats, and Puppy Dogs

Andrew and I went on a Zombie Pub crawl this past weekend with some of the people he's in class with. We had a really fine time. It was definitely an interesting and unique experience. We didn't stay for the whole pub crawl because it started at like 6pm and didn't end until like midnight. 6 hours of partying was just to much for us! lol. We lasted about 3 hours or so.
Zombies walking from one pub to another!!

Still walking

This guy was my favorite!! He was a zombie mailman and yes those are stuffed dogs sewed to his costume.

When we got home from the pub crawl I was really craving some apple pie and I knew that I had everything I needed to make it. So, We made apple pie! lol.
Yummy Yummy apple pie before I baked it.

I went shopping on Sunday looking for an electric blanket (which are ridiculously expensive!) and I found this in Bed, Bath and Beyond. I think that Tango NEEDS one! lol
Tango needs a snuggie! It's cold here.

These are just for Mom. She said she misses the chaos that is our zoo. Look Mom Sue fits in a Large prepaid package. Send me 13 bucks and she's yours! lol.
Sue exploring the package I got from Liz

Sue kept me company all week while I was sick. What a nice kitty.
Munchkin giving me dirty looks for interrupting her bath.
Tango keeping my feet warm.

Fall Time is upon us

Andrew and I carved pumpkins this week! We had so much fun doing it. We saved some pumpkin which I pureed so we can make fresh pumpkin pie. We also saved the seeds and baked them. This is definitely a fun time of year up here in New York. However we're not looking forward to the cold that comes with winter. It has been getting a lot colder up here. This morning when we woke up it was 29 degrees outside!!!!

Andrew's pumpkin is the Alien and mine is the ghost.

Us with our pumpkins.

I put them on our back steps. Notice the kittens trying to steal the pumpkins thunder.

So along with the freezing 29 degrees this morning. There was a light dusting of snow on the trees behind our apartment. Notice the snow on Andrew's car. That was not fun to scrape off before we had to go to work/school and it made me realize that we need an ice scraper for each car!
Snow on the trees.

Snow on the cars!

Apple Fest and Critz Farm

Andrew and I had the chance to go to the Apple Fest in Lafayette, NY this weekend. We went on Saturday it was chili and muddy, but we had a great time. There were lots of crafts vendors and we had the best apple cider there.

Award winning pumpkins at the apple fest. They were HUGE

Andrew in traffic on the way out.

Look how pretty the trees are.

On Sunday we went to Critz Farm's Fall Festival. We had a really good time. We got to go through a corn maze, watch them press fresh cider, pick our own pumpkins, and take a wagon ride back from the pumpkin field.

In the corn maze. We found the first station.

YaY another station!

We found all the stations and got to ring the bell at the end!!

Ringing the bell

Riding the wagon back.

We still have to carve the pumpkins this week.

On the way back we stopped at the picnic site overlooking the lake

Yay! Us at the lake. It was freaking cold.
